UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING:
DEGREE AND MASTER

Our Informative PDF

Educational Objectives of the Degree

The training of graduates that combines a solid formation in Chemistry (its fundamental concepts and applications), a modern vision of both this knowledge and of professional responsibility in carrying out the profession in which special emphasis is laid on forms of production that respect the environment, are sustainable and generate products that contribute to progress and wellbeing, and a complementary formation in Biosciences (focused on the structure, properties and functions of biomolecules) that enables them to work in an industrial setting in which these biotechnologies have an increasingly more important role.

Students at Whom the Course is Aimed

Students who with an interest in life sciences, mathematics, physics and computer sciences, wish to acquire a solid formation as engineers that will enable them to form part, as future professionals, of the world of industry for the research, design, development and application of new products, materials and processes.

Professional Opportunities

The graduate in Chemical Engineering (Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering) can:

  • Undertake multiple activities related to the development, design, setting up, operation and management of products, processes and installations of the chemical industry and all those others that manufacture or handle chemical and biological products, such as the paper, textile, pharmaceutical, food, petroleum and rubber industries, industries of materials and biotechnologies, as well as other related ones.
  • Collaborate in the development of new products and chemical and biotechnological processes, in the recycling and treatment of industrial waste, in the experimentation and use of raw materials, in tasks related to the technical-economic evaluation of resources.
  • Carry out functions in environmental areas, management and quality control and in health and safety.
  • Take up research responsibilities through the study of masters degrees and doctorates.
  • Develop their work in the public administrations, as well as in the teaching sphere.

Additionally, you could be a member of a very active professional group, the Association of Chemists and Engineers of IQS.
