Procedure and assignment of the student's tutor and thesis supervisor

Candidates can apply for admission to the PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering programme at any time during the academic year. The admissions process consists of the following stages:

  • Applicants must request an interview with the coordinator of the PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering programme. Following the interview, the coordinator sends candidates the forms to apply for admission.
  • The candidate applies for admission with the Doctoral Programme Academic Committee by submitting the relevant documentation.
  • Depending on the candidate's academic interests, the Doctoral Programme Academic Committee contacts the corresponding Department and requests an assessment report.
  • The candidate submits their doctoral thesis project to the Department, which assesses the project, the candidate's potential to conduct it, and the availability of material and financial resources, then issues an assessment report signed by the Head of the Department.
  • The Doctoral Programme Academic Committee assesses the Department's report and the candidate's academic record and makes a decision by weighing the report and the academic record 50% each. If the decision is made to admit the candidate, the Doctoral Programme Academic Committee assigns a tutor and a thesis supervisor for the student.

The procedures and the schedule of meetings of the Academic Committee of the program are updated on the IQS virtual campus.
