Foix Vendrell

Foix is a fourth-year student in the Undergraduate Programme in Marketing. In her third year, she had the opportunity to study abroad at Northumbria University in Newcastle (United Kingdom) as part of the programme's curriculum. Thanks to this international experience, Foix will earn a dual international degree.

I am currently in my final year of the Dual Degree Programme in Marketing (IQS) and Marketing Management (UK). During my third year I was able to go to Northumbria University. However, my stay in Newcastle ended up being from September 2019 to March 2020 due to COVID-19. In March we started doing classes online and I was able to continue them without any issues. It was different than what I had expected in the end, but it was unforgettable!

Some of the subjects I studied there were Contemporary Marketing Strategy, Modern Brand Management, and Strategic Marketing for Sustainable Leadership.

If I was offered the chance to go again, I'd accept it without hesitation. I think it's one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. Personally, it was a year of learning, with good moments and challenging moments, but well worth it. Six IQS students from our class studied abroad there and we would all repeat the experience again. I was able to make friends from other countries and get to discover cultures that are different from my own. I also saw and learned about new ways of working that can be applied in daily life.

For any students who are considering an experience like this, I would tell them not to think twice about it because they'll enjoy it a ton and learn a lot. It's really important to make the most of every moment, discover new places, and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. Sometimes it's a bit scary, but an experience like this makes you get your comfort zone, which makes you grow as a person and a student."
