Graduates of the HTSI Bachelor Degree in Tourism tremendously satisfied with their studies

HTSI alumni rate their level of satisfaction extremely high at 8 out of 10 for the Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management.

HTSI alumni rate their level of satisfaction extremely high at 8 out of 10 for the Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. These exceptional results come from the survey "Satisfaction of Catalan university graduates in 2020," prepared by the AQU, the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency. This is the first public report that has been drafted with the aggregated results from the last three years satisfaction surveys were done with bachelor's degree graduates (2015-2017).

In the overall satisfaction section, as well as in the category labeled "If I had to study all over again, I would take the same degree programme," 72.5% of graduates affirm they would do so without hesitation. It is also worth mentioning that 66% of graduates would choose the same school, making HTSI the university that earned the top score in this section.

Teaching and learning: design

  • The programme's curriculum structure enabled me to make satisfactory progress as regards the learning process: 81.5%
  • Course content was well organised and there was no overlapping between courses: 72.2%
  • The work load was consistent with the number of course credits: 75.9%
  • The systems used for assessment satisfactorily reflected my learning experience: 72.2%

Teaching and learning: development

  • I was satisfied with the teaching staff: 77.8%
  • The methodology used by the teaching staff was beneficial to my learning experience: 66.7%
  • Tutoring and tutorials were useful and contributed to my learning experience: 85.2%

Student support

  • Information on the degree programme on the website is accessible and useful: 88.9%
  • Advice and information provided by the student support services was very good: 72.2%

Mobility, in-company internships, and Final Degree Project

  • Mobility schemes I participated in were an important aspect of my learning experience: 96.0%
  • In-company internships enabled me to apply the knowledge I acquired during the programme: 96.3%

The AQU, which has coordinated the annual satisfaction survey directed towards graduates who have just finished their undergraduate studies since 2015, states that: "Understanding students' satisfaction with the quality of their educational experience is a necessary requisite for being able to improve degree programmes." The survey compiles opinions about student experiences and asks them to honestly comment on how they view studying for their degree at their university.
