As part of the degree, we can choose to obtain a dual international degree if we decide to study for a full academic year at a university in Sweden, England, France, or Germany.

I did my exchange at Jönköping University in Sweden for a year. During my time there, I studied subjects related to my degree such as Brand Management, B2B Marketing, Leadership, International Marketing, and Law and Consumer Protection, as well as the Swedish Language.

What was studying in Sweden like?

I think Sweden is the best place to study abroad. Thanks to this experience, I was introduced to other cultures and I met people from all over the world. In addition, Jönköping is an excellent city to study abroad in due to its international and student environment. Since it's a small city, you end up meeting people from all over the world and that provides great opportunities to make new contacts.

Can you tell us about your experience?

When you arrive, the university offers the option to choose a residence hall, the most comfortable option in Sweden. A "kick off week" is organized during the first week for exchange students to get to know the city and new people, which allowed me to meet people right from day one.

I was able to travel a lot during my time there. We actually visited nine countries, everything from the Christmas markets in Budapest to the Northern Lights in Kiruna, Sweden. Without neglecting my studies, of course! The schedule at the university was very flexible. This meant you had to know how to combine your studies with the experience, which is very complete.

The number of different cultures at the university was something that I had never seen before, people from all over the world and with a great diversity of countries. The people were very open and willing to enjoy this international experience.

What did it offer you on a personal and professional level?

On a personal level, this experience helped me to know myself better, to be more open, and to better organize my days. On a professional level, it helped me create a network of contacts with people from almost all over the world, from Europe, Asia, and America, as well as great friendships.

What advice would you give to a student who wants to study abroad?

I would tell the student to be open and not to interact only with Spanish people. Try to get out of your comfort zone and meet people from other countries and the experience will be worth so much more. In fact, I’m considering going back to Sweden do a master's degree there once I finish my degree at IQS!
