As part of the efforts to promote and raise awareness of the services that the new Bioprocess Pilot Plant of the Process Transfer and Integrative Technologies Centre (CTPTI) offers, IQS Tech Transfer has started offering visits to the plant with clients who are interested in getting to know the facilities and capacities of the new bioprocess infrastructure.

The goal is to raise awareness among the different sectors of the possibilities that the new facilities offer so that companies can contract possible services related with biotechnological production and process scaling at a later date.

On 10 January, a delegation from the R+D+i department of the pharmaceutical company Almirall visited IQS's bioprocess pilot plant to get to know its possibilities first hand. During the visit the clients were accompanied by Dr Antoni Planas, professor from the Department of Bioengineering and coordinator of the GQBB Research Group (Biological Chemistry and Biotechnology Group) of the IQS School of Engineering and Director of the Bioprocess pilot unit of the CTPTI; Oriol Selva, a specialist in bioprocesses at the unit, and Dr Núria Vallmitjana, Director of IQS Tech Transfer

The activity, along with Almirall's interest, form part of a set of internal actions to explore the biotechnology surroundings, for the future implementation of a new drug development processes.
