On 8 and 9 September, IQS celebrated the welcome events for first-year undergraduate students. Around 600 new students – enrolled in the 10 undergraduate programmes taught in the 2022-23 academic year – attended their first meeting as university students.

Dr Salvador Borrós, Director of IQS; Dr Jordi Díaz, Dean of the IQS School of Engineering; Dr Carlos Moslares, Dean of the IQS School of Management; and Dr Oriol Quintana, the IQS Identity and Mission Delegate, welcomed the new university students on their first day at IQS. Dr Concepció Mestres, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Blanquerna, joined in by presenting the students in the Undergraduate Programme in Pharmacy.

The coordinators and tutors of the undergraduate programmes and dual undergraduate programmes also participated in the welcome events, and IQS professors and staff presented information about the various services that students can take advantage of during their time here, followed by a brief explanation about the Identity and Mission of our university and an introduction to the technological teaching platforms.

In addition to being full of useful information, the event was highlighted by team building and networking activities that were organized with the aim of achieving greater student integration right from their very first day on campus.

It's also worth highlighting that international students also had their very own initial welcome event on 7 September to address the specific needs of these students who are facing the additional novelty of starting university for the first time outside their home country. During the event, the international students met the tutors who will provide support to them during this new stage in their lives.

IQS offers the undergraduate programmes in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Sciences at the lQS School of Engineering; and the undergraduate programmes in Business Administration and Management, Marketing, International Business, and Tourism and Hospitality Management at the IQS School of Management.
