Bioengineering

The Bioengineering Department was founded in 2007 by merging several IQS laboratories in the Life Science area and by joining new research groups. The Department is composed of 5 laboratories: Biochemistry, Biomaterials, Microbiology, Bioprocesses, and Tissue Engineering.

The Department of Industrial Engineering was created in 2002 and has the laboratories of Mechanics, Resistance of materials, Characterization of materials, Electrotechnics, Electronics and electrical machines, Design Assisted by Computer, Control and automatic and the SEAT laboratory.

Chemical Engineering and Materials

The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, founded in 1960, is one of the longest-established departments at IQS. The members of the department work in 7 laboratories: Ecotechnology, Chemical Formulations, Pharmaceutical Technology, Vascular Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering, Thermal Analysis and Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials.
