Institut Químic de Sarrià, IQS School of Engineering, is a founding member of Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) in Barcelona teaching Bachelor Grades in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology and Pharmacy along with Master studies and PhD programs.

Four years Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineeringstarted in 2010 from a previous study prior to Bologna’s regulations dating from year 2000. Two years Master degree in Industrial Engineering started in year 2014.

Lecturer to be incorporated within the Department of Industrial Engineering to implement new subjects in the fields related to Mechatronics and industry 4.0 to be combined with research activities and services to industry. 

Start date September 2020

Main duties

  • Create and teach new subjects related to Mechatronics and Industry 4.0 for both Bachelor and Master degrees in constant coordination with current subjects: “Mechatronics and Robotics”, “Advanced Robotics, Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence”, “Business Intelligence and Business Analytics”, “Industrial Automation, Internet of Things and Digital Twins”.
  • Possibilities to collaborate in other subjects from Undergraduate Programme and Master in Industrial Engineering.
  • Develop research in the field of industry 4.0 in coordination with other researchers of Industrial Engineering Department and other departments within IQS and other URL Centres.
  • Participate in proposals to obtain financial support for competitive projects from different funding bodies such as Catalan and Spanish Governments or European Union Agencies.
  • Participate in collaboration projects with local industry in the implementation of Industry 4.0 and related topics. Expand this collaboration to international projects.

Evaluation criteria

  • PhD or MSc/MEng in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related topics to Mechatronics.
  • Teaching experience in Engineering subjects with strong experimental approach.
  • Publications in international journals. Preferably JCR first quartile.
  • Experience working in different countries/languages.
  • Experience in translational research within a competitive project.
  • Proficiency in English for teaching and research.
  • Experience in industrial projects related to industry 4.0.
