Objectives of the Undergraduate Programme

Competences to be acquired

The qualification of the Undergraduate Programme in Industrial Engineering includes the entry requirements for a master's degree in Industrial Engineering, associated with the profession of industrial engineer described in section 4.2.2 of Ministerial Order CIN/311/2009, of 9 February, on the Guidelines of Master's Degrees (Ministerial order CIN/351/2009). This programme ensures that our graduates are highly capable of handling numerous tasks in the field of industrial engineering.

The Undergraduate Programme in Industrial Engineering will help students acquire the following competences:

An ability to understand and apply scientific knowledge (mathematics, physics and chemistry) and basic technical knowledge (information technology, graphic expression, mechanics, electricity and materials) required for industrial engineering

Problem-solving, decision-making, creativity and critical thinking

The capacity to develop, program and apply analytical and numerical methodsto create mathematical models in the field of industrial engineering

The ability to carry out measurements, calculations, evaluations, assessments, advanced reports, research studies, work plans and other similar tasks

The possibility to design components, systems, processes and experiments to meet the established requirements

The capacity to carry out projects in the field of industrial engineering

Students will also be able to:

Communicate efficiently, both orally and in writing, transmit knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of industrial engineering

Organise and plan activities in companies and other institutions and organisations

Assess the negative impacts resulting from the inappropriate application of industrial engineering to better understand its importance for society, economy and sustainability

Analyse and appreciate the societal and environmental impact of technical solutions

Students will acquire knowledge in the fields of mechanical, electrical and energy engineering, systems and construction of materials, chemistry, design and production, the environment, organizing and management of projects and companies.

This knowledge, in addition to acquiring cross-curricular skills, is designed to form well-rounded professionals with an ethical commitment to society. Students will be able to solve and promote technological challenges in the industrial sector, both in big companies and in small and medium-sized businesses.
