Professor in the area of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry

IQS School of Engineering, integrated in Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, offers Bachelor Degrees in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, as well as Masters and PhD programs in science and engineering.

The Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry is responsible for teaching Organic Chemistry in the Bachelor Degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and responsible for teaching Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the Master in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bachelor Degree in Biotechnology, and the Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. IQS is currently looking for candidates starting on 2023-2024 academic year to fill the position of: Professor in the area of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Associate Professor to join the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry for teaching and
developing research activities as well as other academic duties. Main job functions include:

• Teaching in the Organic Chemistry area of knowledge in the Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering and Bachelor Degree in Biotechnology.
• Teaching in the Organic Chemistry and/or Pharmaceutical Chemistry area of knowledge in the Master of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and in the Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy.
• Leading experimental laboratory teaching in the area of knowledge of Organic and/or Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
• Developing research in the priority topics included in IQS and Ramon Llull University scientific policy, integrating and coordinating with research activities of the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
• Actively engaging in securing competitive research funding, establishing and participating in projects of technology transfer, and establishing internal collaborative research programs with other professors and researchers at IQS. Establishing and fostering international research collaborations.

Requirements:

• PhD in the field of Organic Chemistry or Pharmacy.
• Postdoctoral or industrial experience –preferably international– in the field of Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or Bio-organic Chemistry.
• A record of publications in international journals and/or patents.
• Participation and/or leadership in competitive research projects will be considered.
• Proven experience in teaching at bachelor or master's level will be considered.
• Good level of English to be able to teach in this language.
• Accreditation of teaching and/or research activity by national evaluation agencies will be valuable or having enough merits to obtain it.
