Recognition and presentation of the 2020/2021 Master's Scholarships funded by the IQS Business Foundation

On Monday, 25 January, the Master’s Scholarships funded by the IQS Business Foundation were awarded to the undergraduate students with the best grades during the 2019/2020 academic year within the IQS School of Engineering and the IQS School of Management.

 

On Monday, 25 January, the Master's Scholarships funded by the IQS Business Foundation were awarded to the undergraduate students with the best grades during the 2019/2020 academic year within the IQS School of Engineering and the IQS School of Management. This recognition, which is now in its seventh year, is made with the aim of inspiring students to continue their education through a master's programme.

Due to the pandemic, this year’s event was held online and was attended by representatives from 10 partner companies: Andbank, Biokit, Celsa Group, Covestro, Eurofragance, Grifols, Roca Sanitario, TechnipFMC, Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and Naturgy.

On behalf of IQS, the event was attended by Dr Salvador Borrós, Director of IQS, Dr Jordi Díaz, Dean of the IQS School of Engineering, Dr José Javier Molins, Registrar, Dr Carlos Moslares, Dean of the IQS School of Management, Dr Rosa Nomen, Administration Advisor, and Ms Rosa Curt, Director of the IQS Business Foundation.

The students earned the scholarship for their achievement during their undergraduate studies and for living up to the institution's main educational values, including initiative, perseverance, leadership, responsibility, communication, trust, and teamwork.

The Director of the IQS Business Foundation, Ms Rosa Curt, called the names of the representatives from the companies along with their respective scholarship recipients:

  • Manel Cerqueda Diez, member of the Andbank Board of Directors, and a 2009 IQS graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, presented the scholarship to Robert Albaladejo Ghanime, who will study the Master's Degree in Wealth and Financial Management.
  • Xavier Soler Serres, Director of Human Resources at BIOKIT, presented the scholarship to Jordi Guixeras Carreras, who will study the Master's Degree in Bioengineering.
  • Angel Cruz Armentia Alvarez, Corporate Director of Industrial Processes with CELSA Group, presented the scholarship to Maite Molins Colomer, who will study the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Fernando Peirón Samperiz, Director of the Barcelona Covestro Site, an IQS class of 1984 graduate in Chemical Engineering, presented the scholarship to Mariona Duaso Carbonell, who will study the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Leticia Palacios Berezo, Group HR Talent & Development Senior Manager with Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company, presented the scholarship to Marçal Pou Nogueras, who will study the Master's Degree in Global Entrepreneurial Management.
  • Alfonso Letosa Porta, Global Talent Development Manager with Eurofragance, presented the scholarship to Santiago Conde Mendoza, who will study the Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry.
  • Nuria Turull Guerrero, Recruiter Corporate HR Talent & Organization, and Maria Hernanz Sarntorroman, Manager, Recruitment & Staffing & ROW with Grifols, presented the scholarship to graduates Yolanda-Tomàs Arruga Torres and Gisela-Carlota Querol Pérez. The former will study the Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and the latter will study the Master's Degree in Bioengineering.
  • Carmen Fernandez Alvarez, Director of Management Talent and Culture with Naturgy, presented the scholarship to graduate Ana Rodríguez Rodríguez, who will study the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Ainhoa Lafuente Elizondo, Director of Human Resources at Roca Sanitario, presented the scholarship to Cristina de Azúa Ruiz-Falcó, who will study the Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
  • Manel Vera Fernández, Director of People & Culture at TechnipFMC presented the scholarship to Oriol Sansalvadó Carbonés, who will study the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.

11 programmes make up the academic offering of official university master's degrees at IQS: five in the IQS School of Management and six in the IQS School of Engineering. In addition, students have the opportunity to do dual master's degrees by combining any of the six master’s degrees offered by the IQS School of Engineering with the Master's Degree in Industrial Business Management.

The IQS School of Management offers the Master's Degree in Global Entrepreneurial Management (MGEM), the Master's Degree in International Marketing in a Digital Environment/International Marketing & Sales Management, the Master's Degree in Industrial Business Management, the Master's Degree in Wealth and Financial Management, and the Master's Degree in Auditing and Management Control.

The IQS School of Engineering offers the Master's Degree in Bioengineering, the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, the Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry, the Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, the Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, and the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
