Why study Tourism and Hospitality Management at IQS?

Studying tourism is an exciting experience that will allow you to learn about different countries, cultures, companies and choose a wide range of professional opportunities in your future. The Undergraduate Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management is a 4-year university degree (240 ECTS) that trains future managers in the tourism sector and hotel management. The hotel and tourism career combines the development of business administration and management skills with the development of skills related to hospitality and tourism activities. It is also closely related to marketing, which is why at IQS we have designed a double degree in tourism and marketing that combines the two sectors perfectly.

Programme objectives

The Undergraduate Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management aims to prepare future managers in the tourism and hospitality sector.

By studying tourism and hospitality management at IQS, you will combine learning competencies to manage and lead companies in the tourism and hospitality sector and develop skills related to hospitality, essential for offering customers excellent service.

The programme is structured along three main lines:

  • Academic rigour: the curriculum includes solid theoretical and hands-on education that will enable you to launch your career, prepared to take on new knowledge and ready for the ever-changing demands of tourism and hospitality.
  • International dimension: this programme embraces the world and emphasizes studying foreign languages, exchanges with international universities, and networking with the global tourism and hospitality industry.
  • Career development: you will begin to launch your career your very first day on campus through close collaboration between the university and the business world.

More than management

The difference between the IQS Undergraduate Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management and other national and international tourism degrees is its focus on managing and leading tourism and hospitality companies.

By studying tourism and hospitality management at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, you will be prepared to become a future international leader in the sector, which is why you will master the necessary management skills for running a company. For this reason, more than 50% of the credits in the programme are related to business management.

In addition, the programme complements your education by teaching you skills focused on hospitality and customer relationships.

Neuro & Digital Marketing Lab

After this course, students have access to the new Neuro & Digital Marketing Lab to teach the degree subjects.

The IQS Neuro & Digital Marketing Lab is an innovative physical space which combines advanced digital marketing software and state-of the art Neuromarketing tools, for a better learning experience. It allows to understand consumer behavior in both the digital and the physical world in order to develop customer-centric products, services and experiences.

The new lab can equip students with the analytical skills required in today's data driven environment, and exposes them to scientific process of Neuromarketing, enabling them to design, conduct and analyze studies in order to improve the customer experience for products and services.
